Essential Functions
Bridge Prep is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources(“HR”) Generalist to join our organizational team. This new role is responsible for supporting a wide range of internal HR functions including staff recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and performance management. The ideal candidate will be a people-focused professional with a strong understanding of HR best practices and employment laws. Key responsibilities of the HR Generalist include:
- Administer day-to-day HR operations and provide support to employees and managers as well as requests related to former employees.
- Implement personnel actions for new hires (I-9 verifications, background checks, fingerprinting etc).
- Assist in recruitment efforts including job postings, screening, interviewing, and I-9 verifications and onboarding of new employees(background checks, fingerprinting etc).
- Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy in HRIS systems.
- Support benefits administration including enrollments, changes, and inquiries.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and company policies.
- Coordinate training and development initiatives.
- Assist with performance review processes and employee engagement programs.
- Participate in HR projects and initiatives to improve processes and employee experience.
- Serve as liaison to the organization’s PEO partner and 403(b) benefits program.
- Support the development and editing of the organization’s Employee Handbook, on an as needed basis.
- Facilitate investigations of employee relations issues such as complaints, grievances and policy violations, handling these issues with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Process bi-weekly payroll in collaboration with the Finance Coordinator and school leadership team.
- Develops and implements ongoing professional development opportunities for staff including staff on relevant HR topics.
Reporting: This position reports to the Chief Executive Officer or their designee(s).
Hours: This part-time position (28 hours per week) has a hybrid work schedule (2-3 days in person).
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in a generalist HR role.
- Knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
- Proficiency with HRIS systems, Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
- HR certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication (both oral and written) skills.
- Ability to work well in a busy and complex school environment.
- Ability to think strategically and innovatively, in order to continuously improve organizational culture.

Salary: Compensation is commensurate with experience, ranging from $40,000-$50,000 annually.
